Artek Aalto stool 60 Publics
Description
Artek’s Aalto stool 60 Publics is a special version of one of the most iconic pieces of Finnish furniture design. The new version of the stool was created by design studio Julia’s Valerio Di Lucente for the library and event venue Publics in Helsinki. The original stool’s revolutionary bent L-leg structure, created by Alvar Aalto, caused a sensation in 1930’s design circles, and as an homage to Aalto’s original design Di Lucente’s version highlights the defining element of the stool: the leg. The seat of the stool is decorated with a single hand-painted stripe that continues all the way down along one of the stool’s three legs, creating a pattern when the stools are stacked as a tower or placed in a line next to each other.
