FlyteFoam MidsoleThe midsole of the Gel-Superion 5 Running Shoe has been constructed using FlyteFoam which provides the perfect balance of lightweight and rebound properties. These layers of protection, bounce, and comfort provide you with unmatched shock absorption and a lively ride. FlyteFoam is the lightest cushioning material ASICS has ever made, 55% lighter than the industry standard, EVA and it buffers against the ground to protect you from unnecessary stress and fatigue. Its reinforced, organic fibres let the material bounce back to its original shape after every run, so you can train harder, more frequently and for longer without the worry that your shoes might not be able to take it. FlyteFoam Propel also resides in the midsole and works to reduce shock during the impact phase, sparing your joints as your sprint down onto hard, unforgiving concrete, and allowing for a smooth transition to mid-stance. A DUOMAX support system on the midsole's inside angle help to improve stability.
AHAR Plus OutsoleSupreme grip and traction are guaranteed with the AHAR Plus outsole. ASICS' high abrasion rubber is a tough rubber compound used in heavy-contact or high-wear areas which helps to cut down on excessive wear. The high abrasion outsole provides a strong grip and works to protect itself from damage, and protect users from losing control and slipping. Creating a strong bond with the ground beneath it, the outsole allows you to stay in full control at all times. This exceptionally durable compound is 50% more durable than standard ASICS High Abrasion Rubber.
