With an incredible warmth-to-weight ratio, the Berghaus MTN Arete Ultra Down Hooded Jacket has been constructed using 850 fill-power hydrophobic goose down to keep you feeling warm in the harshest conditions as well as lightweight and free to move during outdoor adventures. The jacket features Liquid Crystal mapping that consists of extra-reinforced high abrasion areas to provide added durability and a long-lasting finish against rock, ice and pack damage in vulnerable and high-wear areas. The insulation is body-mapped throughout to optimise mobility and warmth whilst also keeping bulk to a minimum. This body-mapped insulation features three zones. Zone 1 has an offset baffle construction with reflective technology to eliminate cold spots and retain body heat. Zone 2 and 3 both consist of stitch-through baffles. The second zone helps to improve breathability where you need it most thanks to regular baffles whilst the third and final zone features micro-baffles for even greater temperature regulation and added comfort. Reflective technology in the main body of the MTN Arete directs body-generated heat back towards your core for a cosy feeling. A helmet-compatible wired-peak hood is complete with a single-point rear adjustment to eliminate bulk, promoting versatility. This means the jacket is ideal as a winter climbing piece or belay jacket.
A guide-approved pocket design features 2 high hand pockets and 1 chest pocket that are all harness-compatible. An additional 2 pockets have been constructed using mesh with a quick access design that allows you to dump skins easily. A two-way front zip with internal zip guard delivers additional protection against the cold whilst allowing for easy on and off as well as full control over ventilation, making dumping uncomfortable heat build-up or blocking cold weather conditions quick and easy. The hem of the jacket is complete with a through-pocket dual hem adjustment for a comfortable fit and ease of use and a dropped hem design that provides extra coverage and warmth throughout wear. Lastly, reflective detailing ensures improved visibility in low-light conditions for added safety.
