Design Toscano 'Conquest of the Knight

Bed Bath & Beyond $242.25 Go to Bed Bath & Beyond Update at 6d ago, first seen in Mar 2024
Description
The title of this painting is from the poem "Rob Roy's Grave"" by Wordsworth that inspired Leighton to create this study of contrasts, of the triumphant Gothic knight in his shining armor stepping confidently into the light returning with the spoils of war at his feet and to the shadowed forlorn maiden following a step behind. Leighton's work bridged the commercial and critical divide earning a place in the Victorians' hearts. Famous for his romantic and vivid Edwardian and Medieval compositions, artist Leighton drew inspiration from historic eras, literature, romance and the Pre-Raphaelite movement. The authentic stretched canvas replica painting captures the original work's texture, depth of color, and even its subtle brushstrokes, which are applied by hand exclusively for Design Toscano. Our replica 4.375"" wide, European style, bright goldtoned, ribbed frame is cast in quality designer resin with an acanthus leaf and floret border that draws the eye toward the beautiful image. Proudly printed and framed in the USA using imported molding."
