Dritz White Button Hole Elastic
Description
Adjust the way you feel in your pants with this Dritz White Button Hole Elastic! Measuring ⅝ an inch wide and 1 yard long, evenly-spaced buttonholes line its plush center, welcoming you to the world of adjustable waistbands. To use, make a buttonhole a few inches from each side of the garment opening, through just the inner layer of the garment’s waistband. Cut the elastic to 5 inches long than the total space between the buttonholes; fold the ends of the elastic under and stitch to finish. Insert the elastic into the waistband with the ends extending out of the buttonholes. Secure the elastic by stitching vertically at the back of the waistband. Attach buttons to the inside of the waistband and slip the elastic over the buttons, adjusting which hole in the elastic you use to adjust the fit of the waistband. Whether you need to modify pants that are too large or are looking for skirts to grow and breathe with you, this all-white trim offers itself to all of your sewing needs.
