Swedish-born label, Eytys, take the chunky trainer trend to the next level with their ‘Halo’ design. Pronounced ‘80s, the brand’s choice of spelling pays homage to Generation Y and draws inspiration from that period. Since launching with a single shoe, pushing boundaries became central to the brand’s ethos, leading to the almost alien ‘Halo’ design. Taking chunky trainers to another dimension, the large jagged outsole accentuates the otherworldly silhouette, complemented by arrow-like panels. Despite its size, the 2.5” platform is lightweight and offers deep-ridged arch support, seamlessly blending high-fashion and wear-ability. The padded tongue and collar ensure comfort, whilst the speed-lace system and hiking boot treat pattern add practicality. Although the chrome plaque logo at the tongue and debossed branding on the heel reflect conventional trainer detailing, the distinct square toe challenges traditional designs.
