Peul Woman, one of the figurines in this collection, is made from Alabaster ground into a fine powder is reconstituted with a resinous binder. Figurine stands 4 inches tall. Story Behind the Art: Castangna's creativity in design and special manufacturing process that allow for the creation of a sculpture, each piece is extensively researched for authenticity, with body shapes, colorations, and expressions depicted as life-like as possible. At age 15 a Mursi girl has her 'disk lip' placed. The disk is a symbol of beauty and wealth. The Mursi people live in one of the least accessible areas in southwestern Ethiopia.
