About A Lounge Chair AAL83 Soft Duo by HAY combines a sleek oak base with a plush padded seat upholstered with two different fabrics. The soft quilted shell makes the lounge chair super comfy and gives it a cosy, relaxed look. The About A Soft Duo chairs are part of HAY’s About A collection, created in close collaboration with designer Hee Welling, featuring chairs with outstanding simplicity and combinability. With the About A collection, Welling wanted to reach a new level in the combination of shape, function, comfort, detail, and aesthetics. The idea was to develop a chair that would work equally well around a dining table and a conference table, as well as in a restaurant, café or office. Due to their simple and straightforward design, the chairs can be combined with many types of furniture and interiors. In 2021, HAY renewed the surface treatments of its wood furniture by replacing their paints and lacquers with more environmentally friendly, water-based alternatives. This chair is of newer production and has been finished with a water-based lacquer.
