Hay CPH25 table round
Description
The CPH25 table, characterized by a round and capacious design, is part of the Copenhague furniture collection designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. The table is made from lacquered oak and has a velvety smooth linoleum top – the porous material has a pleasant feel to it and is prone to developing a patina over time. HAY invited the Bouroullec brothers to design the furniture for the new buildings of the University of Copenhagen (KUA). Due to the symmetrical frames and sleek legs, Copenhagen chairs and tables both stack vertically, allowing an almost infinite stacking. The Bouroullec brothers wanted to create furniture with greater originality and a more domestic expression than traditional educational furniture. The Copenhague collection fits all kinds of public and private use. In 2021, HAY renewed the surface treatments of its wood furniture by replacing their paints and lacquers with more environmentally friendly, water-based alternatives. This table has been finished with a water-based lacquer.
