The weavers use the warp strands as the foundation and the weft strands as both part of the foundation and in creating the patterns. Due to its handmade nature, the rug size may vary by up to 3-4 inches. Regular vacuuming and annual professional cleaning will keep your rug looking new for years to come. Herat Oriental has been providing authentic handmade rugs to Worldstock for over a decade, creating jobs for over 2,000 local village weavers. The majority of the weavers are women who live in the villages of Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. By growing with Worldstock, we are able to create more jobs for female weavers who otherwise would not have the opportunity to do so. Additionally, the community benefits from rug weaving as local farmers benefit from wool sales, and local artisans create natural and vegetable dyes for the weavers to use in their designs. Imported. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen. The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected.
