Herat Oriental has been providing authentic, handmade rugs to Worldstock for over 10 years, creating jobs for over 2,000 local village weavers in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. The majority of these weavers are women, who benefit greatly from the income provided by rug weaving. In addition to supporting local artisans, rug weaving also benefits local farmers who sell their wool to the weavers and natural dye makers who create the dyes used in the rugs.
