Herat Oriental has been collaborating with Worldstock for over a decade to provide authentic, handmade rugs to customers while creating jobs for over 2,000 local village weavers. The majority of the weavers are women who live in villages across Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, and Iran. Rug weaving helps these families financially, while local farmers benefit from wool sales and local artisans create natural and vegetable dyes for the weavers to use in their designs.
