The majority of the weavers are women who live in the villages of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India, and creating these rugs provides them with job opportunities. Rug weaving also benefits the local farmers through wool sales and the local artisans through creating natural and vegetable dyes for the weavers to use in their designs.
