The chemical composition of the dye used in these rugs can withstand years of use and washing. These rugs are colored with all-natural vegetable dye that are made up of roots, flower petals and tree bark. The colors used reflect the natural surroundings of the region. The majority of the weavers are women who live in the villages of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran and India. By supporting these women, we are able to create more job opportunities for them. The community also thrives from rug weaving as the local farmers benefit from wool sales, and the local artisans create natural and vegetable dyes for the weavers to use in their designs.
