Description
Add a touch of exquisite art to your living space with this Handmade One-of-a-Kind Kazak Vegetable Dye Wool Rug from Afghanistan. This unique rug is a type of Armenian rug woven in the south of the Caucasus region, between Tiflis and Erevan. The Afghan weavers in the northern (Turkoman tribes) and central (Hazara tribes) parts of Afghanistan reproduce these beautiful designs as the production of rugs in the Caucasus region is limited to a few villages. Made with 100% wool and vegetable dyes, this rug features a knot count per square inch of 180 and a pile height of 0.25 inches. The rug boasts a blend of colors that include salmon, ivory, blue, green, navy, and tan. Features: One-of-a-kind Kazak design Made with 100% wool and vegetable dyes Knot count per square inch: 180 Pile height: 0.25 inches Blend of colors: salmon, ivory, blue, green, navy, and tan Story Behind the Art: This exquisite rug was woven by the talented village weavers within the Hazara tribe in the Bamyan province of Afghanistan. Due to the handmade nature of our rugs, the size may vary from as advertised by 3-4 inches. Regular vacuuming and annual professional cleaning will keep your rug looking new for years to come. The majority of the weavers are women who live in the villages of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. As we grow, we are able to create more jobs for female weavers who otherwise would not have the opportunity to do so. The community also thrives from rug weaving as the local farmers benefit from wool sales, and the local artisans create natural and vegetable dyes for the weavers to use in their designs.
