However, the production of these rugs is now limited to only a few villages in the region. To reproduce this beautiful design, the rug is handmade by Bhadohi village weavers in India. The majority of the weavers are women from Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. Rug weaving provides them with job opportunities they would otherwise not have. The community also benefits from wool sales and the creation of natural and vegetable dyes for the weavers to use in their designs.
