Features: KPSI: 200 Primary materials: Wool Pile height: 0. 5 inches Style: Traditional Primary color: Ivory Pattern: Floral Story Behind the Art: The design of this rug originates in the Iranian city of Mahal, however the design was copied and re-created in India and virtually identical in design, workmanship and authenticity as the originals. Weavers of the Mahal design use the asymmetrical or Persian knot, giving their rugs exceptional softness and flexibility. Natural dyes are used to give the rugs their rich colors. This particular rug was made in the Sultanabad village by women weavers and brought to the bazaar. The wool of the Mahal rugs is hand spun from the weaver's own sheep.
