These remnants are then put together to create a patchwork rug that preserves the good parts of these rugs. Made by village weavers in Lahore, Pakistan, this rug is a product of the rug weaving villages of Iran. The rug's inconsistencies in design are part of its nature and charm. Due to the handmade nature of the rug, its size may vary from the advertised size by 3-4 inches. To keep the rug looking new for years to come, it should be regularly vacuumed and professionally cleaned annually. The majority of the weavers who create these rugs are women who live in the villages of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India.
