This rug is a unique piece of world art that will enhance your living space. Tabriz rugs are among the most beautiful and legendary carpets ever made. Many rugs produced in Tabriz are attempting to follow the incredible artistry of the Persian Safavid rugs. The knot count per square inch for this rug is 250. The rug is made 100-percent wool pile, and a cotton foundation, as well as pure vegetable dyes. The pile height is 0. 25 inches. This rug has a floral pattern in shades of brown, olive, ivory, light green, beige, and rust. Country: India Knots Per Square Inch (KPSI): 250 Material: Hand-knotted 100-percent Wool Pile height: 0. 25 inches Latex Free Primary color: Brown Secondary color: Olive Style: Traditional Pattern: Floral Story Behind the Art: The Tabriz design of this rug was copied and re-created in the Jodhpur region of India, by Jaipur village weavers. These rugs are virtually identical in design, workmanship and authenticity as the originals. Due to the handmade nature of our rugs, the size may vary from as advertised by 3-4 inches. Regular vacuuming and annual professional cleaning will keep your rug looking new for years to come. Herat Oriental has been providing beautiful, authentic, handmade rugs for over 10 years. We have been given the opportunity to create jobs for over 2,000 local village weavers, which helps them to greatly support their families. The majority of the weavers are women, who live in the villages of Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. As we grow, we are able to create more jobs for female weavers who otherwise would not have the opportunity to do so. The community also thrives from rug weaving as the local farmers benefit from wool sales, and the local artisans create natural and vegetable dyes for the weavers to use in their designs. Please keep in mind that new wool rugs may initially shed and have a natural capacity to shed for several months after purchase. This is normal due to the nature of construction of most wool rugs and not a defect. Factory sealed boxes cannot be returned if opened.
