Features: Unique and captivating geometric patterns Hand-tufted by skilled women weavers in India Knot count of 150 per square inch Made of 100% wool for natural warmth and durability Plush pile height of 0.5 inches Natural colors of tan and red complement any decor Story Behind the Art: The contemporary design of this particular rug originated in the mountainous areas of Tibet but is made in the Varanasi region of India, by the Bhadohi village weavers. The wool of these rugs is provided by the local villagers. The majority of the weavers are women, who live in the villages of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. As we grow, we are able to create more jobs for female weavers who otherwise would not have the opportunity to do so. The community also thrives from rug weaving as the local farmers benefit from wool sales, and the local artisans create natural and vegetable dyes for the weavers to use in their designs. Note: The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size, and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen. Imported.
