Features: Unique world art design with intricate geometric patterns Hand-tufted with a knot count of 200 per square inch Made of 100-percent wool with a 0.25-inch pile height Locally sourced wool from the villages of India Handcrafted variations in color, size, and design Story Behind the Art: The wool for this rug is provided by local villagers, and the weaving technique is hand-tufted by Bhadohi village weavers in India. The majority of the weavers are women, who live in the villages of Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. As we grow, we are able to create more jobs for female weavers who otherwise would not have the opportunity to do so. The community also thrives from rug weaving as the local farmers benefit from wool sales, and the local artisans create natural and vegetable dyes for the weavers to use in their designs.
