Features: Geometric patterns and lively designs Knot count of 190 per square inch 0.25-inch pile height Made of 100-percent wool Unique and one-of-a-kind piece of world art Story Behind the Art: Due to the past 30 years of war and foreign invasion in Afghanistan, most weavers in the villages have moved to the cities and are no longer weaving rugs. However, this rug was made by weavers in a very primitive way on flat wooden looms that lay on the ground, using wool from their own sheep. The washing and natural vegetable dying of the wool is done in their own villages. The weavers are mostly women who live in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. By buying this rug, you will be supporting female artisans and local farmers who raise sheep for wool. Regular vacuuming and professional cleaning will keep your rug looking new for years to come. Imported. Please note that color discrepancies may occur between the product and your computer screen, and due to the handmade nature of the rug, sizes may vary by up to 3-4 inches.
