This Balouchi rug was crafted by weavers in the villages of Herat, who used 100-percent wool from their own sheep and a primitive flat wooden loom. The rug was washed and dyed using natural vegetable dyes in their villages. As a result of this handmade process, the size may vary up to 3-4 inches. The majority of weavers are women who live in the villages of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. Purchasing this rug supports their work and creates job opportunities for female weavers. The community also benefits from the wool raised by local farmers and natural dyes created by local artisans. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen.
