Story Behind the Art: This beautiful rug is produced in the Varanasi province of India, by the Bhadohi village weavers who have reproduced the design of Kazak rugs that were originally woven in the south of the Caucasus region. The majority of the weavers are women from Afghanistan, Pakistan and India who rely on rug weaving as a source of livelihood. By creating jobs for these women, we are able to support their families and help their communities thrive.
