Description
This rug is a unique piece of world art that will enhance your living space. Kazaks are a type of Armenian rug that were woven in the south of the Caucasus region, between Tiflis and Erevan. The knot count per square inch for this rug is 100. The rugs are made of 100% wool, as well as 100% vegetable dyes. The pile height is 0.25 inches. The colors include red, navy, brown, beige and tan. Story Behind the Art: The production of rugs in the Caucasus region is limited, only done in a few villages, therefore this beautiful design has been reproduced in the Varanasi province of India, by the Bhadohi village weavers. Due to the handmade nature of our rugs, the size may vary from as advertised by 3-4 inches. Regular vacuuming and annual professional cleaning will keep your rug looking new for years to come. The majority of the weavers are women, who live in the villages of Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. As we grow, we are able to create more jobs for female weavers who otherwise would not have the opportunity to do so. The community also thrives from rug weaving as the local farmers benefit from wool sales, and the local artisans create natural and vegetable dyes for the weavers to use in their designs. The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen. Imported
