Features: Unique one-of-a-kind vintage Balouchi design 190 knot count per square inch 0.25-inch pile height Made of 100% wool Comes in charcoal, red, grey, rust, green, and tan colors Story Behind the Art: This rug is made by weavers in the villages of Herat in a very primitive way on flat wooden looms that lay on the ground, using wool from their own sheep. The washing and natural vegetable dying of the wool is done in their villages. Due to the handmade nature of our rugs, the size may vary from as advertised by 3-4 inches. The majority of the weavers are women who live in the villages of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. Your purchase helps create more jobs for female weavers who otherwise would not have the opportunity to do so. The community thrives through rug weaving as local farmers benefit from wool sales and local artisans create natural and vegetable dyes for the weavers to use in their designs. Imported.
