Due to the ongoing conflicts in Afghanistan, most of the weavers have migrated to the cities, making newly woven Balouchi rugs a rarity. However, this rug was made by weavers in the villages of Herat using 100% wool from their own sheep. It was woven on flat wooden looms laid on the ground, which adds to its uniqueness. The natural vegetable dying of the wool is done in their villages, giving each rug a distinct character. With regular care and maintenance, this rug can last for years to come. Imported
