The weavers are part of a community of over 2,000 local village weavers in Afghanistan, Pakistan and India, most of whom are women. The rug weaving provides them with a source of income to support their families while the local farmers benefit from wool sales and artisans create natural and vegetable dyes for the weavers to use in their designs.
