Features: One-of-a-kind piece of world art Handmade by village weavers in Afghanistan Knot count of 200 for fine craftsmanship Made of 100% wool for durability and comfort Colors include navy, red, gold, brown, green, and blue Story Behind the Art: During the war in Afghanistan, village weavers created these rugs to depict the war and the struggles that they faced. Due to the handmade nature of the rugs, there may be slight variations in size up to 3-4 inches. Regular vacuuming and professional cleaning will keep this rug looking new for many years to come. The majority of the weavers are women who live in Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. As we grow, we are able to create more jobs for female weavers who otherwise would not have the opportunity to do so. The community also benefits from rug weaving as local farmers benefit from wool sales, and local artisans create natural and vegetable dyes for the weavers to use in their designs. Imported.
