Story Behind the Art: This rug was made by village weavers in Tabriz using a process that includes cleaning, washing and dyeing the wool before weaving it with vegetable-dyed wool. Herat Oriental has been providing beautiful, authentic, handmade rugs to Worldstock for over 10 years, creating jobs for over 2,000 local village weavers, who are primarily women living in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran and India. The community thrives from rug weaving as local farmers benefit from wool sales, and local artisans create natural and vegetable dyes for the weavers to use in their designs. Note: Due to the handmade nature of this rug, size may vary from as advertised by 3-4 inches. The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen. Imported.
