This rug is a unique piece of world art that will enhance your living space. Kilims are known as 'pile-less' rugs; the design is also known as slit-weave. These beautiful designs are achieved by interweaving the various colors of the vertical and horizontal strands of the rug. It can be used as a hanging piece or as a floor covering. This particular rug was made in the Varanasi region of India, by the Bhadohi village weavers, led by Shyamlal. The knot count for this rug is 200. The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected.
