This Ikat vegetable dye rug is made on portable wooden looms typically with wool pulled from the tribe's sheep each year. This particular rug was made in the Bhadohi region of India. The chemical composition of the dye is hearty enough to withstand many years of use and washing. All-natural vegetable dye is an ecological alternative to chemical dyes because it is made up of roots, flower petals and tree bark. The colors reflect the natural surroundings of the region. This rug is 100-percent wool. The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen. Imported Tip: We recommend the use of a non-skid pad to keep the rug in place on smooth surfaces. All rug sizes are approximate. Due to the difference of monitor colors, some rug colors may vary slightly. We try to represent all rug colors accurately. Please refer to the text above for a description of the colors shown in the photo. Please keep in mind that new wool rugs may initially shed and have a natural capacity to shed for several months after purchase. This is normal due to the nature of construction of most wool rugs and not a defect. Click here to view our Wool Rug Care Guide.
