Breathable Mesh Upper
Constructed with a breathable mesh, the Hoka Rocket X offers a secure fit that hugs the foot for optimum comfort, flexibility and breathability. By allowing cool air to flow throughout the upper, the Rocket X removes an uncomfortable heat build-up to ensure a healthy environment for the feet to thrive in. Striking the perfect balance between support and flexibility, the engineered upper allows the foot to flex naturally whilst still providing a snug and comfortable fit. The mesh upper works to improve structure and provide midfoot lockdown by working with the lacing system to ensure a supportive fit. The traditional lacing system works to lock down the midfoot so you can enjoy distraction-free strides. Completing the upper is an anatomical tongue construction that sits comfortably against the foot and moulds to the shape of it to reduce the risks of chafing and irritation whilst also providing ample ventilation so you can remain cool, dry and comfortable at all times.
Carbon Fibre MidsolePrimed for shorter distances, the Rocket X utilises the same responsive carbon fibre plate as the Carbon X 2, delivering a fast, efficient and propulsive ride. The midsole uses CMEVA foam to provide stable footing and absorb impact points. A softer density has been used on the top to increase underfoot comfort and provide the perfect amount of resilience and response. Additionally, a bottom density works to increase energy return and ground contact so you can go further for longer with peace of mind that your footwear can take you anywhere. The bottom layer is also abrasion resistant and works to reduce the risks of wear and tear. Sandwiched between the different densities is a carbon fibre plate that curls under the lateral toes to deliver a smoother transition throughout the gait cycle. The carbon plate minimises energy loss, increases propulsion and delivers an abundance of structural support making running feel effortless and giving you the confidence to reach new PB's. The carbon plate helps to maintain the meta-rocker which lies underfoot and as a result, the two technologies work in tandem to amplify the rocker's benefits. The early-stage Meta-Rocker is applied in the midsole to increase running efficiency. Meta-Rocker midsole geometry is specifically designed with a low heel-toe differential and a sculpted outsole to create a unique fulcrum effect, like a rocking chair to encourage a guided gait cycle. This design supports a runner's natural form while promoting an efficient, smooth roll from initial impact to toe-off.
Rubberised Foam OutsoleA flexible and durable outsole completes the Rocket X. Rubberised foam is used to enhance responsiveness, increase traction and ensure high rebound cushioning. The durable rubber outsole will keep you in firm control as soon as you set off. Forming a solid bond with the ground, the outsole will anchor you into place, keeping you in a strong and controlled position. The Rocket X's sole uses zonal rubber placement which in turn reduces overall weight whilst still providing excellent durability.
