Iittala Kastehelmi tea towel
Description
Iittala’s Kastehelmi tea towel features a beautiful dotted pattern, designed by Oiva Toikka for the iconic Kastehelmi glassware collection. The towel is woven of 100% linen and measures 47 cm x 70 cm. The Kastehelmi collection came about in 1964, when Oiva Toikka explored ways to conceal joint marks in pressed glass. The result was a design featuring rings of delicate glass droplets that resemble dewdrops glistening in morning light. Kastehelmi, Finnish for dewdrop, has since become one of Toikka’s most beloved series of glassware, and the collection has expanded with textiles and other products decorated with a pattern inspired by the glassware’s distinctive rings of bubbles.
