Iittala's Kastehelmi drinking glasses with stems are part of the popular Kastehelmi glassware collection designed by Oiva Toikka. Decorated with strings of glass bubbles, the stemmed Kastehelmi glasses add a distinctive touch to any table setting from the breakfast table to formal dinner parties. The Kastehelmi collection came about in 1964, when Oiva Toikka explored ways to conceal joint marks in pressed glass. The result was a design featuring rings of delicate glass droplets that resemble dewdrops glistening in morning light. Kastehelmi, Finnish for dewdrop, has since become one of Toikka’s most beloved series of glassware.
