Description
Songbird Georg is part of Kay Bojesen’s flock of wooden birds called Songbird. The green and silver bird is a tribute to the Danish silversmith Georg Jensen, whose apprentice Kay Bojesen was in the early 1900’s. Inspired by the birds visiting his patio, Bojesen designed the Songbirds in the 1950's and named them after his family members: Ruth, Pop, Otto, Kay, Peter and Sunshine. After finding pictures of the cheerful beech birds in the family's old photo album, Rosendahl added them to their collection of Bojesen's animal figurines in 2012. The charming birds have a clean, modern expression, stripped of superfluous details that are well suited for any contemporary home.
