La Pastiche The Large Poplar II (Gathering Storm) with Versailles Gold Frame
Description
20" X 24"" The Large Poplar II (Gathering Storm) was painted in 1903 by Gustav Klimt. Klimt spent summers with the Floge family between 1900 and 1907. A large poplar tree on the property sparked the artists interest. He painted this particular tree a couple of times before it succumbed to a lightning storm. This piece reminiscent of Pointillism using a multitude of dots, layered in different colors to create an effect of the changing sky as its viewed from different angles. Art reviews said it was a painting that had a somber undertone like they could feel the storm approaching. Our oil on canvas reproduction will delight true art lovers with the same craftsmanship as the original. Frame Description: Versailles Gold Frame"
