20" X 24"" The Sentry was originally painted in 1654 by Carel Fabritius. This painting sets a full scene for its viewers, giving you a sense as though you are there first-hand. A soldier is resting against a wall, his gun in his lap. Off to the side of the soldier is an excited puppy, trying to rouse the man. This piece was restored in 2004 and exhibited for the first time in 2009, centuries after the untimely death of the young, promising artist. Today, the original is a part of the Staatliches Museum collection in Schwerin. Our reproduction offers the same tones and attention to detail as the original.
