GORE-TEX Upper
The uppers are made from abrasion-resistant, breathable, water repellent mesh and the lining uses a GORE-TEX membrane to guarantee waterproof and breathability. The shoes combine durable waterproofing and optimised breathability, offering enduring waterproof protection and honed climate comfort. Water stays on the outside whilst perspiration can easily escape from the inside of the shoes. Thanks to their innovative construction they are an ideal solution for the widest range of outdoor activities and changing weather conditions. The upper also features a single mesh that aids ventilation and breathability. The mesh allows air to fully permeate the entire upper providing a constant supply of fresh, cool air. Simultaneously the mesh forces out hot, muggy air that resides in the shoes during heavy exertion activities. A sock-Shield construction is a unique innovation that provides unbelievable amounts of comfort by offering a sock-like fit, eliminating any spaces inside the shoe.
An easy lace system with an integrated lace pocket allows easy lacing and lets you store the laces, preventing distractions such as the laces snagging on debris on the trail. In addition, the lacing system integrates with the structure of the upper and works in tandem with the mesh to provide a more snug and comfortable fitting when the laces are tightened. This construction eliminates in-shoe slipping and provides added structure to the upper. Lastly, a rubber toe bumper provides excellent protection when on unpredictable terrain against rocks and debris that could potentially cause injury.
Injection Moulded EVA MidsoleThe Tempesta uses an Injection Moulded EVA Midsole which differs from the standard compression moulded EVA midsole for a high degree of cushioning and better rebound properties. These features assist the toe-off phase of the gait cycle while running, making these ideal shoes on offroad trails. Furthermore, EVA injected midsoles drastically reduce the squash effect of the EVA over time, allowing the product to maintain the same characteristics and high performance for its entire duration.
FriXion AT OutsoleThe Tempesta outsole has the FriXion AT dual-density compound. FriXion is designed to give good grip, durability and shock absorption on all types of terrains. The outsole also features the innovative impact brake system that is applied to the sole to absorb the negative ground impact and improve grip when running downhill. The unique position of the lugs allows many of them to come in contact with the ground for maximum grip and impact absorption. The outsole lugs are also compatible with the La Sportiva AT-Grip spikes to provide extra grip on muddy and slippy surfaces.
