Art Deco master glassmaker (and Sydenham Art College alumnus) René Lalique originally designed Merles et Raisins to decorate the dining carriages of the Orient Express, where it was inlaid with Cuban mahogany. Now, thanks to Lalique, the prestigious cultural heritage of the pattern lives on in a new form: this vase.
