Taking us back to the SS/89 season when Parisian fashion house Maison Margiela’s ‘Tabi’ made its first appearance, the men’s canvas high-top trainers feature the collection’s distinguishable split-toe feature, inspired by the white socks typically worn beneath traditional Japanese Geta sandals. A heritage classic of the brand, the sneakers perfectly capture the Maison’s avant-garde and insubordinate spirit combined with an on-trend basketball shoe style that resembles Converse’s Chuck Taylors. Crafted with black cotton canvas and set atop a chunky flatform rubber sole with textured foxing, the hi-tops feature an eight-eyelet lace-up fasten with flat, off-white laces. With a pair of silver-tone eyelets on the inner foot offering breathability, the split-toe shoes are detailed with a vertical overlay at the heel, adorned with the brand’s signature stitch detail.
