Marimekko's Kaksoset cushion cover features a spectacular feline print designed by Maija Isola. Made of a natural, unbleached cotton-linen mix, the cushion cover is placement printed – the print is always in the centre of the cushion cover. Maija Isola, who designed the Kaksoset pattern, is best known specifically as a textile designer, but did you know that she also had a long career as a visual artist? During her nearly 50-year career as a painter, Isola often carried out both painting and print design on the same subject. The big cats in the Kaksoset (“Twins”) pattern, designed in 1970, are one of these subjects, and they are repeated almost identical in Isola's painting and in Marimekko's patterns.
