Marimekko Rusakko cushion cover
Description
The Marimekko Rusakko cushion cover is adorned with a bold print designed by Aino-Maija Metsola. Please note that the covers are made using the entire length of the fabric to prevent the material from going to waste – this means that the placement of the pattern may differ from the product image. Designed in 2021, the ornamental, somewhat abstract Rusakko print nods to folklore, only revealing its motif upon further inspection: the print depicts a big hare crouching amongst the shrubs, ready to leap at any moment – the name Rusakko translates to "brown hare". Aino Maija Metsola drew the original design on paper with a bottle pen marker and a paintbrush, after which she digitally coloured it with vibrant, strong hues.
