Itâs lower to the ground and lighter than our previous iteration, so that you can handle the off-road path with pace and security. This special design is part of our ongoing #IYKYK series. It traverses the Pyrenees mountains via the GR 11, using the coastal lighthouses as your guide from the Mediterranean Sea to the Cantabrian Sea. Behind the Design:GR 11 is a bucket-list excursion for worldwide trail running enthusiasts. The painted red-and-white stripes on the midsole signify the signage colors used across the trail. The âlighthouse to lighthouseâ landmarks on the insoles and splashes of yellow throughout represent beacons of light for the runners fortunate to complete the entire course. The deep blues herald the ocean waters that greet the runners at the 750-km trekâs start and finish. Greens and grays represent the rocks and limestone peppering the Pyrenees. Smooth and Springy:Nike React technology is a lightweight, durable foam that delivers a smooth, responsive ride. We implemented a full React midsole and removed the forefoot Air unit from the prior iteration, so that you can get even closer to the ground without sacrificing comfort and speed. Feel the Connection:Multidirectional traction lugs in the heel have high-abrasion rubber to help give you optimal grip on ascents and descents, even in wet weather, so you can stay connected to the trail. Revamped Upper:The upper is light and reductive, so the shoe feels like it disappears on your feet while still offering cushioning on the trails. It's made of engineered mesh, stronger and more flexible than regular mesh, and helps keep dirt out. The midfoot band provides stability and support to help minimize movement inside the shoe. Optimized Durability:Hard-wearing, abrasion-resistant materials help provide durability in key areas, like the overlays around the toe and the rubber outsole wrap on the heel and forefoot.
