The New Balance Concepts x 999 'Seal' is a limited edition sneaker released in April 2012. The shoe was inspired by the OTB Abyss II Boot, which is used by US Navy SEALs. The sneaker features stain-resistant microfiber suede, ballistic mesh, and ultra-breathable nylon. The 'N' logo on the medial side is made with durable rubber, while the tag on the gusseted tongue is perforated with Morse code encryption. The collar lining and footbed feature a topographic-map design.
