The Dragonfly 2's comfortable fit and propulsive feel are built to go the distance in races and key workouts. Updated spikes, full-length ZoomX foam and a lighter, more responsive plate are ready for speed, stamina and podiums.
Engineered Mesh Upper
Engineered mesh uppers encase each foot in streamlined comfort. Zones of ventilation have been engineered into the Dragonfly 2 and the perforations in the fabric increase airflow to create a better, healthier environment for your feet to win in, and lightweight support wraps the foot in a firm fit, reducing in-shoe slippage so that you can enjoy smooth, distraction-free strides. A wider forefoot and midfoot follow the natural contours of the foot; it enhances propulsion by increasing space, allowing the toes to splay and push off the ground. An update to the heel structure helps to increase stability so you can focus on the track ahead. Completing the upper is a traditional lacing system with notched laces to help lock the midfoot to prevent excessive movement.
ZoomX MidsoleUltra-light and super-responsive, the midsole of the Dragonfly 2 utilises ZoomX foam, Nike's greatest energy return midsole; it absorbs impact and then expels it back out for a bounce-like effect. This energy-return technology reduces the use of superfluous muscle power, diminishing fatigue and enhancing performance, keeping you going for longer. The revolutionary ZoomX foam is manufactured from Pebax, a product conventionally used in plastic bridges and other moulded parts, and yields cushioning that is not only lightweight but soft and springy. A new full-length carbon plate also resides in the midsole. The plate is lighter and more responsive than the previous version and adds durability while the curved design gives you a propulsive feel for a greater toe-off.
Four Spike OutsoleFeautring a new outsole, the Dragonfly 2 has gone from six spike pins in favour of four removable spike pins, made of stainless steel, to deliver optimal biting traction. A sharkskin heel pad improves grip, for multi-surface traction, without sacrificing weight; resisting the traumas of heel strike to supply you with a reliable, fast and long-lasting race buddy.
