I am Parvez Alam from Bhadohi, the hub city of handwoven carpets in Uttar Pradesh, India. I am a very hardworking, creative and soft-hearted person. ""I was born in a family where handcrafted rugs were a tradition. My forefathers were in the rug business since 1975. As a child I was captivated by the beauty of handcrafted rugs. The bright colors always fascinated me. As I grew up, I decided to join this craft business. My grandfather and other members of my family taught me the technique and intricacies of crafting a rug. With time and continuous practice of weaving, color concepts and creative design construction, I mastered this art. ""We use wool upon a cotton base to prepare kilim dhurries. We get wool easily from the market and then we send it for color dyeing. After the color dyeing is complete then it finally goes to the weaving process. After weaving then it goes for finishing. It is a very lengthy process to complete one particular rug. My favorite thing is to create and develop a new design and colors for our products. We always face challenges in this field, because there is lots of competition in our industry for new creativity. ""I get my inspiration from my family members, who always help and support me in this field. I wish to craft creative products for our customers with different and unique things as per their market concepts and demands. Being a joint family, we all work together and get a lot of support and ideas from each other. We divide our work among our family members so that we are able to manage it all easily and always do a good job. ""Our craft has always benefited the local community, as I have a manufacturing unit. Many local people have joined with me to assist me with the weaving, color dyeing, designing, washing and finishing the products in various categories. I also try to give them work in our manufacturing units. ""My aims and dreams are to maintain good quality, create new designs, increase capacity and also to promote our business."" The handmade touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen. Imported"
