Engineered Mesh
The upper of the cloudswift 2 has been constructed with a 100% recycled engineered mesh that provides you with a breathable and extremely comfortable fit. The materials supply you with a constant level of airflow, to keep your feet cool and comfortable during intense running sessions. Perforations within the knit upper will help to ensure feet feel fresh when on the move. Not only this, but moisture-wicking properties will prevent an uncomfortable heat and moisture build-up by removing excess sweat that may arise when feet get warm during training. The shoes have a sock-like fit, which allows an easy instep, thus providing comfort for a range of foot shapes whilst a 3D heel padding further prevents discomfort. Through the heel and midfoot On has created a support system with a quarter-length support cage that is connected to the lacing to provide you with secure lockdown, whilst also providing structure to the shoes. The aim is to support the midfoot when cornering at pace, as well as serve to dissipate any pressure on the forefoot and heel more effectively when undergoing such manoeuvres. Running through this construction is a traditional lace system, which works with the support cage to keep the foot locked in and secure, preventing in-shoe slipping from occurring.
Advanced Midsole and OutsoleOn has re-engineered the midsole of the Cloudswift 2 midsole, to offer increased forefoot cushioning. This has been done by re-positioning the CloudTec® technology and increasing the foam pads to the rear to dampen the force of heel strikes as you run. The update alongside a dual-density Helion superforam provides you with ultra-comfort and confidence on your next run. The CloudTec construction is formed to give you that extra boost you need to take you further and faster. From soft cushioning to the forefoot rocker for a smooth rolling motion, the Cloudswift 2 has established itself as a true "urban running shoe" icon. Advanced cushioning technology, CloudTec, adapts to every runner thanks to multi-directional Cloud elements that react to your unique movements to deliver soft landings alongside a powerful take-off. This cushioning technology is proven to reduce muscle fatigue and lower your heart rate so that you can run faster for longer. Made from a dual-density Helion superfoam, the compound provides the shoes with exceptional levels of durability, without added weight or bulk. The construction delivers you a soft underfoot feel and improved cushioning.
Sandwiched between the top and bottom midsole, the shoes have an injected TPU Speedboard for a dynamic, enhanced energy return and soft underfoot feelings. The Speedboard is a rigid plate that delivers enhanced responsiveness and support during movement, promoting lateral stability and reducing stride momentum loss - essentially reducing the strain and fatigue felt by the muscles of the underfoot. Thanks to the rocker motion, the Cloudswifts provide you with a fun and "swift" forward-rolling sensation. Finally, the shoes utilise strategically placed rubber pads which help to provide enhanced durability in high wear areas and traction on the road and hard surfaces.
