Oriental Rug of Houston Hand Knotted Isfahan Cream Persian Wool & Silk Traditional Oriental Area Rug
Description
A veritable work of art! This rug represents the finest of rug traditions in Turkey. Made in its namesake city, the rug is a stunning composition of technique, craftsmanship and design. With a high knots per square inch of 400 on silk foundation, the rug has been woven using the Perzian knot. This knot allows for tight weaving that results in sharper, clearly defined rug design as well as improved longevity of the rug. The pile is a combination of high-quality wool and silk. The natural wool adds not only years to the rug, but also provides dirt-repellent qualities and thermal insulation. The silk, on the other hand, provides a unique shine to the rug which seems to transform when viewed from different angles. This rug features a delicately ornate medallion on a cream inner field where curvilinear floral motifs abound. It is helmed by a handsome band of borders with Shah Abbasi flower and interwoven vines and scrolls. The overall impression is one of timeless elegance, visual splendor, and consummate artistry. Available for in-person and video consultation, by appointment only.
