This is a beautiful Coral, Beige, Taupe, Gray, Green, Light Gold, Multi Hand Knotted Peshawar wool Rug from Pakistan. Peshawar rugs are known for tight weaving, large print designs, short, clipped pile and predominant ivory and gold tones. The wool used is lanolin rich and hand spun. Combination of Beige, Taupe, Gray, Green, Light Gold tones against a coral background elevates the color palette from the mundane to sophisticated and elegant. The main field features highly stylized botanical and floral motifs against a coral background, that is hemmed by an opulent border that complements the rug. Story Behind the Art: Hand-knotted rugs are Pakistan's second-largest cottage and small industry that began as early as the 11th century under the Mughal rule.
